Charity Seal Program

The BBB at Fort Worth offers local charities meeting the Standards for Charity Accountability the option of applying for a BBB charity seal which can be displayed both online and in their solicitation materials. The seal provides the public with a clear, concise and easily recognizable symbol indicating the subject charity adheres to the BBB’s strong and comprehensive standards. Only local charities meeting the standards are eligible to apply for the seal. Participation in the seal program requires a license agreement.

Please note participation in the seal program is optional. The BBB at Fort Worth continues to report on local charities which have been the subject of recent inquiries from potential donors regardless of whether the charity intends to apply for the seal or not. The BBB also continues to report on charities whether or not they meet its standards.

In recent years, a variety of charity accountability issues have been in the public spotlight. Many charities are concerned about this and are seeking ways to distinguish their operations and to assure donors that their organizations are operating responsibly. The goal of the BBB at Fort Worth’s seal program is to offer a highly visible accountability tool which will help inform donors, assist charities in establishing their commitment to ethical practices, and encourage greater confidence in giving. Local charities' participation in the program is voluntary. To qualify for use of the seal, the local charity must be found by the BBB at Fort Worth to meet its standards and sign a license agreement.

If you are with a local charity and are interested in applying for the seal, please either mail a letter or send an email to info@fwbbb.org noting your organization's interest and the name and title of the individual at your organization who will handle seal application activities.
